I don't usually read campus romance stuff, but this one hooked me right from the bus scene with those two gossipy girls talking trash about Zhu Jiajia. It felt way too real, I swear I've heard identical conversations in my own school. The way the author wrote their jealousy dripping through every word made me uncomfortable in a good way. And Zhou Peiyu just sitting there bored, not caring at all, that's exactly how I'd react too. The contrast between the online mob mentality and his indifference was a nice touch.
I love how the story switches between past and present without losing tension. The flashback to her getting the system while standing in a trash heap? That’s the kind of grounded detail that makes sci-fi feel lived-in. It’s not all shiny spaceships—there’s grit.
1 The cultural background is interesting but not over-explained. The mention of the Jiao, Ji, and Qu Zhao regimes, the Shen River as a natural boundary, the fallen prefectures—it all creates this map in my head without drowning me in exposition. I’m not lost, but I’m hungry for more lore. Hope we get some flashbacks or conversations that flesh out the history more.
Her journey to find Li Wanzhi is a great plot hook. It connects her past-life knowledge to her present goals. She knows about a powerful future information network and needs to get in on the ground floor. The detail that he was "down on his luck" adds a layer of practicality to her character. She’s not just going to storm the sect; she’s building a foundation. She's playing the long game. This shows she learned from her previous life not just to hate, but to plan. She’s not just a reactive character; she’s proactive in building her new life and power base.
