He is initially unfriendly and denies being a fellow countryman, but gives Bai Mu advice on how to get a job: either do labor at the docks or use special skills in the Upper City. He also explains that Bai Mu can go to City Hall to complete civil registration and pay taxes to become a local. He is practical and wary of strangers, showing no interest in helping further.
