Chu Liuzheng is the female protagonist, a tea server in the Wenhua Palace side hall. She possesses a mysterious system in her mind that allows her to read the latest gossip and secrets of the palace, which she uses to navigate the dangerous court and protect herself. She is meticulous, thoughtful, and cautious, always aiming to survive safely until the age of twenty-five to leave the palace and reunite with her family. Her appearance is described as graceful and elegant: jade-like skin, an oval face, crescent-shaped eyebrows, bright almond eyes, rosy lips, and white teeth. She has slender, white fingers like lotus stems, which make her tea-serving movements especially pleasing. She is kind to her colleagues but pragmatic, often inheriting the belongings of fallen palace maids. Her inner voice frequently curses the emperor as a "tyrant," but she carefully hides her true thoughts. She plays a key role in revealing the prince consort's crimes and assisting the princess's divorce, and later helps uncover a poisoning plot against the Imperial Noble Consort.
