Cuiyun is a new palace maid assigned to the tea room of Wenhua Palace after Jiang Wantang's death. She previously worked in the Imperial Wardrobe Bureau. She is clever and knows to ingratiate herself with Chu Liuzheng by offering a pouch embroidered with koi, which contains two taels of silver. She is cheerful and eager to learn, and she happily accepts the bright-colored clothes left by Jiang Wantang. She is observant and wants to secure her position in the imperial presence.
