Father Cheng is the patriarch of the Cheng family. He is sly and pretends to be fair while controlling the family finances. He intercepts the remittances sent by Cheng Jingchuan and refuses to give any money to Shu Yue. Initially, he strongly opposes the family division to keep the income, but eventually agrees when Shu Yue threatens to involve higher authorities. He is concerned about the family's reputation and uses his wife to do the dirty work.
