Father Ye is the patriarch of the Ye family. He remarried after the death of his first wife and favors his stepdaughter Ye Zhiruo over his own daughter Ye Qing. He is impatient and easily angered by Ye Qing's defiance, often demanding she apologize and submit. He lacks understanding and fails to see the bias in his household.
