Grandfather Huang is an old man from Hongma Village, known for his skill in killing ghosts. He stopped practicing after the Cultural Revolution, but he owes a debt to Mo Sangu’s father, which Mo Sangu calls upon to help protect the Lin baby. He is described as wearing a green face, red hair, an Erlang helmet, a brightly patterned theatrical robe, and carrying a sharp trident — probably ceremonial or intimidating attire. He arrives at the Lin house just before dusk along with Mo Sangu.
