Liang Yi is the commander of the garrison in the northwest. He has been married twice before, both unions arranged by his hometown family and both brides died of illness, leading to rumors that he is a "wife-killer." Stern, no-nonsense, and somewhat chauvinistic, he is initially resistant to marriage and scorns An Min as a delicate upper-class girl. Forced by Director Yang to meet An Min, he expects a pampered woman but instead encounters a spirited, rebellious young woman who both irritates and intrigues him. Over time he becomes devoted to her, protective and caring despite his gruff exterior.
