An unnamed Daoist priest who passed through Lingsheng Village years ago. He predicted to Lin Mu that her family would have a grandson fated to face a deadly tribulation; if the child overcame it, the family would prosper for three generations, otherwise they would be poor. His prediction is recalled by Lin Mu during the crisis. He adds a layer of superstition and foreshadowing to the story.
