Qin Sheng reincarnated from another Earth into the Shading the Heavens world. He discovered he could cultivate and reached the peak of the Divine Bridge realm, one step away from completing the Wheel Sea stage. This achievement was possible because of his golden finger, the Infinite Land, which connected him to four deceased versions of himself from other worlds: Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils, The Legend of the Condor Heroes, The Smiling, Proud Wanderer, and Mr. Vampire. Through this connection, Qin Sheng could amplify his combat power by fourfold and borrow their energies to fuel his cultivation. He used the Northern Darkness Divine Art from the first world as a foundation to simulate the Heaven Swallowing Demonic Art and absorbed the power of his other selves. On Earth, where spiritual energy was severely depleted, this method allowed him to make progress.

Qin Sheng knew the original plot of the Shading the Heavens story. He befriended Ye Fan, the Ancient Desolate Saint Body, and prepared to accompany him on the journey to the Big Dipper via the Nine Dragon Pulling Coffin. When Ye Fan’s class reunion extended to a trip to Mount Tai, Qin Sheng joined, driving his own BMW. At the summit, nine dragon corpses dragged a bronze ancient coffin from the sky. The coffin crashed down, and when the lid opened, Ye Fan and his classmates were sucked inside. Qin Sheng leaped in at the last moment.

Inside the coffin, Qin Sheng explored the bronze walls covered with ancient beasts. A smaller coffin stood in the center, inscribed with hundreds of ancient Emperor Talismans he could not yet decipher. He comforted the panicking group and confirmed they had left Earth. When the coffin opened again, they were on Mars. Qin Sheng and Ye Fan went to explore the Great Thunder Sound Temple. They found Buddhist artifacts and a Bodhi tree. Qin Sheng collected the artifacts into his Sea of Suffering but warned Ye Fan not to touch the temple plaque, as demons, including the Crocodile Ancestor, were sealed beneath. They took a Bodhi seed and left quickly. Qin Sheng used the divine energy from the artifacts to activate the Five-Colored Altar. A Taiji diagram appeared, and the coffin departed Mars before the Crocodile Ancestor broke free fully.

Back in the coffin, Qin Sheng used the Bodhi seed to comprehend the ancient scriptures on the small coffin. The heavenly sounds imparted knowledge about the construction and repair of the Immortal Realm, touching directly upon the essence of the Great Dao. He then handed the seed to Ye Fan, who also succeeded in the insight. Pang Bo failed to gain anything. The coffin continued its journey through the starry sky, guided by the star map engraved on the walls. Finally, it crashed down, and the group emerged into a world full of life and light. They had arrived at the Big Dipper Seven Stars.

Qin Sheng saw a stone stele with the words “Ancient Forbidden” and recognized they had landed in a forbidden land. He stayed close to Ye Fan, knowing that survival here would require strength. He revealed to Ye Fan and Pang Bo that Ye Fan possessed a special physique and Pang Bo had a latent bloodline, hinting at their potential. He himself had barely crossed the threshold of cultivation on Earth, but now, with the richer resources of the Big Dipper, he planned to continue his path. The journey had taken them from a world of exhaustion to a realm of myth, and Qin Sheng intended to seize the opportunities ahead without taking unnecessary risks, such as touching the dangerous artifacts in the Great Thunder Sound Temple. He looked forward to cultivating further and leaving his mark on this ancient land.

I am predicting that Qi Sheng will either become the most hated or the most loved character in the later arcs. Right now, he is a loveable rogue. He steals, he min-maxes, he abandons side characters. If he takes this ruthlessness too far into the Big Dipper arcs (where the original characters have parents and love interests), he might lose the audience. The line between "pragmatic" and "scumbag" is very thin. So far he is walking it perfectly.

I want to read the next ten chapters immediately after finishing this. The combination of system-based power fantasy, genuine friendship with the main cast, and the cosmic scale of the Shading the Heavens setting creates a perfect storm for binge reading. This is exactly the type of story that keeps you up at night thinking "just one more chapter."

Honestly, the only thing holding this back from being a top-tier fanfic is that the relationship with the alternate selves is too easy. He just inherits their power by fulfilling wishes. There is no struggle. He got four stars immediately. The system feels a bit like a "get out of jail free" card rather than an engine for conflict. I hope future selves are harder to please.

The transition to the Ancient Forbidden Land is appropriately terrifying. "When I gaze into the abyss, are the people in the abyss also gazing at me?" is a chilling moment that completely shifts the tone from the humorous Mars heist to the deadly seriousness of the Big Dipper. The author knows exactly when to be funny and when to be scary.

Why hasn't anyone made a "Little Qin Sheng" joke to the Ruthless Empress's followers yet? I am waiting for the moment someone from the Forbidden Land recognizes his soul aura or something and he has to feign ignorance. That interaction is going to be pure fire. The hook for that is so strong.

I seriously doubt this story has a high re-read value simply because the main appeal is the surprise of the system and the knowledge of the plot. Once you know how He subverts the Crocodile Ancestor and the Forbidden Land, the first arc loses some of its tension. Still, for a single readthrough, it is incredibly satisfying.
