I really like how the opening immediately drops us into Jiang Nan’s life – the phone call with her cousin feels so natural and real, no big dramatic exposition. It’s just her trying to figure out what time to stream, and you can already tell she’s struggling. The whole setup about her being a university grad who had to come back to the village hit me hard. It’s that feeling of being the family’s hope and then crashing back down, which a lot of people can relate to. The system appearing felt a bit convenient but honestly, after reading how desperate her situation is, I was rooting for her to catch a break.
One minor flaw: the timeline feels compressed. Wen Jiayue gives birth, has a huge argument, faints, wakes up hours later, and then has dinner and another argument with the sister-in-law. Realistically, a woman who just gave birth would be exhausted and probably sleeping most of the time. But I guess dramatic tension takes priority. I can roll with it as long as the emotions stay sharp. But it’s something that pulled me out of the story for a second.
The chapter ends on a cliffhanger about the divorce and Mo Yao’s reaction. I bet he’s gonna be pissed when he finds out she has healing abilities, because then he can’t get rid of her easily. The drama potential is huge. I’m also wondering if the other husbands will start treating her better once they realize she’s useful.
Wow, the opening of this chapter is intense! The rain, the flashing lights, the whole atmosphere of a village on edge. I was immediately hooked. It's got this classic "mob vs. the law" vibe, but with a supernatural twist thanks to that Wind Chasing Dog. The reporter getting shut down by the Yimo aura was a nice touch, sets the power scale early. But man, that "Zhao Family Village is a single family" detail? That hit hard. It explains the fierce loyalty and the immediate defensiveness. I felt that community pressure instantly. The setup is so clean: a rape, a beating death, and now a whole village ready to riot for one of their own. I'm already picking sides.
