When Xie Jin and Fan Xiaoguo arrive with Du Yu, they approach this official to request a judge for judgment. He nods upon hearing that Du Yu is a suspected wrongful death victim and goes inside to fetch a judge. He later witnesses the confrontation between Cui Jue and the Red-Robed Judge and kneels along with others. He is a minor administrative figure who facilitates the initial processing of Du Yu's case.
