Kaede is a first-year high school student who survives the zombie apocalypse by hiding in the staff room of a Home Center. She has long, untied black hair and looks gaunt from lack of food. She is rescued by Azami, who gives her food and water. She is grateful and insists on repaying him. She tells Azami her story: her mother became infected and turned, and her father went missing while trying to gather supplies. She is kind, determined, and sad about her parents. She stays with Azami after being rescued.
