Kaede's mother is a woman who was bitten on the arm by an infected man during the initial panic. Fearing she will turn, she locks herself in the women's locker room to protect her husband and daughter. She later succumbs to the infection and becomes a zombie, often banging on the door. She is protective and selfless, showing deep love for her family. Her condition deteriorates, and she eventually loses her humanity. In her final moments as human, she showed a strong, sharp resolve that contrasted with her usual gentle nature.
