An elderly man being chased by soldiers for possessing a strange animal horn. He claims it is a family heirloom, not an evil object, and that his ancestors belonged to the Fayuan Sect, a persecuted group. He weeps about the unjust fate of his family, none of whom ever saw the sect. He is desperate and fearful for his life. He escapes into an alley where Liu Ke catches up, and he pours out his sorrow.
