The attacker is an infected man who emerges from a side street during the initial outbreak. He lunges at Kaede's mother, biting her arm. He is thrown off by Kaede's father, but the bite leads to her eventual infection. He represents the many infected individuals that suddenly appeared during the crisis, attacking the fleeing crowds without restraint.
