Chen Xiao is Li Fu's husband. He left her without explanation to become a cultivator. He returned with Hua Yue as his concubine and housed her next to the Chen residence. He claimed he didn't tell Li Fu about cultivation to avoid disturbing her. He was taken as a disciple by the Third Elder of Penglai and became a once-in-ten-thousand-years genius due to being a Chosen One. When Li Fu ascended to the Nine Heavens seeking justice, he told her that there is a distinction between immortals and mortals. Later, as Lord of Ghost Fiends, he fought her but was severely injured, protected only by Mahayana talismans. He shows some lingering feelings but ultimately supports the cultivators.
